It started with a Santa standing in the snow some 5 days ago. He was then surrounded by some helpers, tried to make a boy happy in another room, but I was never satisfied with the results. Then my older son gave me the inspiration for this, naming his desire for a new smartphone, this would make his holiday special...

I had to find a setup where santa clause is hidden from the boy. After some hours work, the scene was basically built up in Daz Studio 4.9, but turning out to neither render in Iray on my gtx 770 due to memory limitations, nor in cpu mode as the pc crashed sooner or later. Finally I was happy to borrow a gtx 1070 from a friend just to render this picture. So then I was able to fiddle a litte more with the lights - I like it when an image has a sort of inner glow. Hope you like it ;)

Done with Iray in Daz Studio 4.9 with a star added in photoshop cs5 to accentuate the smartphone. Work estimated 12 hours spread over 3 days, rendering 4 1/2 hours.
