This painting was created from a traditional sketch, where I used both a real life model and a 3d photo I made as reference for facial proportions and pose. It was created in photoshop, and took about 2 weeks to finish. My inspiration was the beautifully broken, the idea that the dark doesn't have to be that dark after all. There can be an ethereal beauty in the spooky, things are rarely black and white. It's a play on the line between human and inhuman, life and death. Person or alien, child or ghost.
