I've learned from ghost stories that ghosts do not believe in skeptics. However they must find ways to fully convince the skeptic to believe in them if they wish power over that person. Sometimes the ghost just wishes to be with a person and remind them of events in the past. Inspired by movies I've watched recently such as "The Awakening" and "The Skeleton Key".
