This image is entitled "I'll be Home for Christmas," and it was inspired by dear friends whose lovely baby girl was recently born 2 months premature. Their dream for this holiday is to be able to take their little one home for Christmas, and since as a child I always believed the holidays were a bit magical, I decided to have a few Christmas elves stop by to see what they could do to help. Style-wise I had Norman Rockwell in mind, whose detailed images with often sparse backdrops are always associated with Christmas for me. In terms of time this image was done over a week working several hours at a stretch, with the initial render scrapped due to my unhappiness with it (I've never attempted to depict a baby before!).
