The urban legend that was my inspiration for this story is actually 2 urban legends combined...one is the usual vampire urban legend of being bitten on the neck and turned to a vampire, and the other is an urban legend from 1975, when the Ohio Players recorded a song called "Love Roller Coaster". There was a distant sounding scream between the first and second verse, and the legend was that it was a woman being murdered, stabbed to death, in another nearby studio in the building. I combined these two premises to form my story, which is fictional of course...or is it?
