Gone were the days of quietly snatching slippers and socks, tweaking the toes of the children in the beds above them and giggling when they squealed, always watching protectively over their nightly rest. Their job was done, the threat was gone... for now. Wounded, spent, unable to return to the lives they had known, some of the older Underbed Guardians adapted by moving to nearby havens.
