I decided to make a render about Bloody Mary. I first heard of it when I was a kid and it was really creepy! Story goes that chanting Bloody Mary, I believe in Mary Worth or other variations in front of a mirror, will make the evil spirit of Mary Worth appear in the reflection. It is said that in some cases she will scratch the face of the person who summoned her. I made a background with some resource images and placed it as a texture for a plane primitive with an elliptical transparency map where Stephanie 4 is coming out. I did some additional render layers for the candles and Stephanie parts too and integrated everything in a single image in Photoimpact XL. Once the renders were in place I did some postwork, specially for the clothes and mirror effect. I used actual really old photos to replicate her clothes as best as possible. One of the things I wanted to achieve, was the urge of the viewer to see what’s behind the mirror’s dusty surface and then behind the veil. Sometimes I prefer the viewer to search for certain details rather than throwing them at their face.
