Revenge of the Broken Hart Rebecca Hart was happier than she'd ever been in her life, and that was saying much. The beautiful young debutant, only daughter of a wealthy steel tycoon who doted upon her since she was born, was almost entirely unfamiliar with the emotion of sadness. Now, however, the man she loved had asked for her hand in marriage. She had everything she'd ever wanted. That evening her father was throwing a masqued ball in honor of her engagement, and everything was going splendedly. At around 11 however, her betrothed complained of some stomach distress, and asked to be excused for a moment. When he did not return for nearly an hour, Rebecca became concerned and went upstairs to look for him. What she found turned her whole world upside down, and introduced her for the very first time in her life to profound grief. There, on the very bed she'd slept in since she was but a girl, was her fiance entangled in the throes of passion with her best friend! Horrified, she ran out of the room as fast as her feet could take her, with her erstwhile lover hot on her heels. Then, as the clock began to chime midnight, she stepped into a puddle of wine one of the guests must have spilled earlier that night. While she didn't immediately fall, the slip, combined with her momentum sent her flying through a nearby window overlooking a cliff, and into the frigid sea below. The next night, as Rebecca's philandering fiance was bemoaning the loss of his early retirement plan (for that was the true motive behind his marriage proposal), a woman approached him. It was Rebecca, looking as beautiful as ever. Thinking that she must have somehow survived the fall and had come to confront him, he began to try to smooth things over. It was then, that she transformed into the bedraggled corpse she really was and ended his life brutally as he had broken her heart. Legend has it, that to this day, on the anniversary of her death, a beautiful woman with jet black hair prowls the town, looking to seduce any man who has already committed to another. Only after luring them into a dark back alley is her true image revealed as Broken Heart Becca takes yet another victim. This image was created with several different programs: Rebecca and her gown were modeled in ZBrush and Lightwave, textured in ZBrush, and rendered in ZBrush. The background was rendered in Vue. Her hair is a combination of a Poser render and copious amounts of postwork in Photoshop, where the entire image was composited. I kind of lost track of how much time it was taking after about 40 hours, but I'll hazard a guess of around 50-60. This was inspired by the many different versions urban legends about a scorned woman coming back from the grave for vengeance. Hope you like it! :D
