Kuchisake-onna is a Japanese urban legend with origins in medieval mythology. There are quite a few different variants of Kuchisake-onna. This version is a fairly modern version who stalks victims while wearing a surgical mask to cover her lower face. When she finds a victim, who is usually a teen or young adult, she asks if the victim thinks she is beautiful. If the victim says 'yes', she pulls down her masks and repeats the question. Regardless of the victim's second answer, she ends up killing him or her and mutilating his/her face like her own. Some versions state that different answers will result in her allowing the victim to escape or survive.
