Entry #3

THE WHITE LADY The lovely bride on her wedding day. While getting ready for her wedding to a great man, she had recieved a note from an ex-lover. The note read, "Meet me in our old spot. We must talk. I still love you." Though she had no love for this man anymore, she didn't wish to marry her new love with things left unfinished. So as she still had a little bit of time, she went to the clearing in the grove to meet her ex-lover and bring a closure to old feelings. Her ex-lover, however was obsessed, and would not let her go. If he could not have her, no one would. He strangled the bride to be and left her lifeless body in the place they once shared. The trees around became diseased and gnarled. Upon the spot her body lie, emerged a small, equally gnarled, lifeless tree. It is said if you find the clearing in the grove, where the small tree desperately reaches for the sun, you can see the ghostly bride. Only now she wears the black veil of mourning. This story was inspired by a white lady legend my friends and I shared as a kid. This was our version of the many white lady urban legends out there. This image, simple as it is, took me about 4-5 hours with my limited Paint Shop Pro resources and skill. LOL. That and I accidently deleted my 1st version of this picture. So I had to redo everything again. I made Tree "Brushes" myself by painstakingly cut and paste, cut and paste. Layer here, layer there. Exclude this color. Blur that brush. Paste this here. THE MAGIC WAND OF PAINTSHOP PRO IS MY BEST FREIND. LOL! I think in the end it came out pretty cool. I tried to get a spooky background to put the final image on, but all the edges kept showing up when I would paste on it, and it would take away from the image, so I decided to leave the background plain black.
