Alternate Version of my previous submission: Behind every good man, there is a good woman. She is his foundation, his guide and his love. She is the one who defines him and if the love if true she gives him the honorable title of fatherhood. Inspired partly by fantasy, and a short poem, this illustration took on a life of it own. Originally, this was going to be a series of images. The first image; a young warrior/adventurer saves an elf woman from a monster. Out of gratitude, she falls in love with her rescuer, they get married and she gives him the greatest reward any man could hope to receive; she bares him a child, making him a father. The Poem: The Precious Gift With strong watchful hands, he held the precious gift… This gift, more precious than gold or jewels, and more fragile than fine porcelain. This gift, a responsibility that she has given to him is his legacy This gift is FATHERHOOD. Happy Father’s Day.
