October 2009 Bryce Monthly Challenge - Bryce Only

The critter is 121 metaballs, mostly in the "align to path" legs. The "grippers" are Bryce cubes and cylinders. All surrounded by a volumetric water cube. Lighting supplied by 2 spots and a custom IBL image. Render time about 8 hours. Thanks for looking!
