Entry #67

"I told you we should've gotten rid of that horrid doll on Ebay...." Created with PoserPro and PhotoshopCS. I had a lot of fun with this. I was inspired by Maya's BallJointDoll, and have long wanted to create a menacing image to do her justice. Her expressionless face gives her a uniquely innocent yet evil look. I spent about 20 hours in total on this project, about half of which was involved in setting up lighting and doing test renders. Pre-render posing and scene composition was an enjoyable exercise, going through several interpretations until I eventually settled on the version shown here. The final render took about 90 minutes, after which I spent another couple of hours in Photoshop to add the blood, depth-of-field effect and general tweaking. Originally I went a bit overboard with the blood... fun, but I felt it looked a bit gratuitous, so I toned it down to what is shown here (an earlier version had blood spattered all over the doll's face and clothing, nice, but far too intense). A fun project, and my first time entering a render competition. Thanks for looking :o)
