The Little Match Girl - Home for the holidays, it means different things for everyone. I often think of the story of the Little Match Girl, on a cold winter night, not a match sold, unwilling to go home to the beating that she knows she will get. She lights her match and finds a home better than any she has known and she smiles. For me, that is what Christmas is about, finding the one shining thing in our lives to light the darkness and help us forget about the bitter cold. Merry Christmas to all! I lost track of how long it took, actual render time is probably 4 hours, I've been working on that image since the contest was announced, just trying to get the lighting right, especially her face and the match.
