Characters and props set up in Poser 6, then exported as Wavefront objects into Lightwave 8.5 for re-texturing, lighting, camera placement, special FX and final render. For the special FX I used Sasquatch (grass) and Hypervoxels (fire). My inspiration comes from the fear of Circus clowns as a child, the whole scene took many hours over several evenings to complete, with minor postwork in Photoshop CS2, doing the lettering. I made a day-time version first, but changed it into a night-time version for a creepier effect. While in Lightwave, I removed the ferris wheel gondolas, to be re-placed by skeletons.
