The Great Carnival of Evil The night was dark and forbidding as the carnival began. They came from near and distant lands to be part of this yearly event. As I looked around I saw there were vampires,ghouls,orcs,and demons starting to file into the graveyard. The party was about to begin. The music started to play,it was a eerie sounding tune it made me feel cold inside and a shiver escaped my body. I didn't know which was worse the music or the knowledge that I had came to this place. I had lived a normal life but something always seemed to be missing. I know now it was my dark side that I had never let out. Each one of us has one you know, you should beware of it at all times. Otherwise you will end up like me here in the company of evil. The vampires were starting to dance their hunting dance, the ghouls were swaying from side to side. The orc were looking for something to eat, and the demons were looking for someone to slay. My head was in a cloud and everything started to swim as the music kept getting louder. All of a sudden the host made the music stop. He started to welcome everyone and told us there is food for everyone on the tables at the end of the graveyard. He said that tonight there was going to be a big surprise. The way he said it made me worry I don't like surprises. The music started up again and I started to move around the graveyard. I could hear strange noises coming from one of the crypts but was afraid to look. I went looking at tombstones and found some of people I knew . The only one I didn't find was mine but it must be here or why else would I be here. As the night wore on I was starting to relax when the host called everyone around him. In the blink of the eye I was pulled to the front next to him. I was really getting scared now but he said not to worry I would be fine. He said it was time for the surprise so I held my breath not knowing what to expect next,when all of sudden I woke up in a sweat for it was all a dream and I was back among the living. I shook for quite a while trying to make sense of what had happened. I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked kind of pale but otherwise alive. The only thing I can think of is that it is that time of the year when all the ghosts and goblins come out and it is my favorite time of the year. Happy Halloween to all Word count 476
