Some claimed it began with a satellite crashing through the earth’s atmosphere. The locals who found the remains of it said that a foul-smelling ichor clinging to the metal’s hull had resurrected a half-eaten rat. Others are of the opinion that a top-secret government agency had been experimenting with a new chemical/biological agent, one designed to keep brain-dead soldiers fighting. Somehow the agent escaped into the atmosphere, where it began to spread. No one really knows how or why it happened--all we know is that it has happened. The dead now walk the earth.
