Entry #8

Once, the beautiful meadows of pleasant valley were a green retreat for those who were tired of city life. Then on one hot and steamy night in the summer of 1967, all that changed. No one was ever able to prove that the fire was intentional, but on that fateful night, in the middle of a traveling carnival which had opened on the site, a tragedy unfolded. A group of elementary school students and their parents from the nearby town perished when the worn and old ferris wheel at the park caught fire. The fire quickly spread to the surrounding rides, and the entire carnival was soon destroyed. Ever since that night, on hot and steamy summer nights, in the place now called Haunted Meadow, the laughter of those children who perished and their parents still echo through the derelict carnival rides which were never removed. And at a certain time during those nights, it is said that for a few fleeting moments, that laughter turns to cries of pain and anguish. It is also said that during that time, the carnival rides once more begin to operate and the tortured spirits are forced to repeat their tragic end on THE WHEEL. These spirits are guarded by a Vampiress, who is destined to spend all of eternity with her pet dragon Fang, protecting these tormented spirits from further harm, or interference from the living. Okay, this entire mode3l except for the creepy trees vampirtess, dragon and cat, were modeled in Carrara 6 Pro. The Ferris Wheel is probably the most complex model I have ever done to date. You can't really see all of the detail at this resolution, but the ferris wheel was designed based on research of actual rides on the net. It has a lot of detail, rivets, stay wires, light bulbs etc. I just hope this looks alright. I made it a bit light since I have had some feedback on other models saying they were dark. I attribute this to differences in monitors. If you think it is too dark or light, try tweaking your brightness and contrast. Anyways, I hope you like the image. Sparrownightmare.
