Entry #7

That's my story and I'm sticking to it I tied up all my kids, hope they don't get loose if they do on Christmas morning, I'll be hanging in a noose not from a Christmas tree, cause there will not be one there and the place to put the presents, well .. that place will be all bare darn right I'm scared, wouldn't you be too if your kids expected gifts, and got only I.O.U.'s I think I'd be alright, and I could calm them down if I had a nice cooked dinner, but there ain't no food around cause we didn't get our food package, nothing came from CARE and the Salvation Army said, that they had none to spare I tried to get us welfare, but, the worker she said no you have to be a foreigner, or illegal from Mexico so I dressed up in a red suit, looking just like Miss St. Nick, and the cops they locked me up, for trying to pick up tricks well I didn't have a lawyer, to get me out of jail, so I asked judge if he would kindly, offer me a deal He said 'now listen here, that's not the way it's done', 'but if you really want a deal, come in my chambers hon' well we walked into his chambers, then he turned and shut the door He told me to take off the suit, and get down on the floor his face turned red, he was in shock, and full with disbelief when after I took off the suit, I began to remove, my clothes that were beneath he said 'what the hell you doing?, don't you take off any more!!' ' all I wanted you to do, was simply scrub the floor' 'then when that you finished, dust some here and there' but if that's what you thought I wanted, get the hell out of here' so I made my way back home, still broke as broke can be when I saw a Santa in a store, and sat down on his knee he said 'Ho, Ho, Ho ' to me, I said ' OH NO I'M NOT!!' I'm just dressed like this, to get my kids what they have not' 'I thought that if I dressed like this, with a pot and rang a bell' 'that I could get some money, to buy them gifts, but then .. oh well' 'I'm sorry that I bothered you, you're not really Santa Claus' 'and I'm sorry that I had an accident, on your now wet drawers' then He winked and smiled, and told me 'don't you fret' 'every thing will be all right' and 'look my drawers aren't wet' and sure enough they were not, and that I just could not believe because I know that on his lap, myself I did relieve and when I finally got home, and made it to my bed I just laid there wondering, as I scratched my head for all that happened on this night, gave me cause to pause maybe somehow, somewhere, there is a Santa Claus then I woke up Christmas morning, to my kids shouting with joy and ran downstairs to see them playing, with every wanted toy as they sat around a tree, all twinkly with lights, red, green and blue I prayed I wasn't dreaming, and that it was all true and when I saw the table, full with a feast fit for a king to the Lord in praise and thanks I began to sing and and that's my story and I'm sticking to it, every word I said and I believe in Santa Claus, that Saint all dressed in red Word count 615
