"With the familiar Earth songs playing in the background, and the replicated scents of cinnamon and allspice wafting through the ventilation grills of her cramped, yet cozy, spacestation quarters, Alexxa sat beside her new friend Yortok and began to explain the meaning of Christmas and all it's traditions.Before them, holographic images of her great great grandmother Alexandra opening presents on Christmas morning lit the quarters in a eerie blue glow, and although he had not experienced anything similar on his native planet, Yortok understood the importance of continuing traditions passed from generation to generation.The act of dragging the old, frayed decorations out of storage and into a place of significance did not seem so strange once Alexxa began telling him the stories of her youth and of her ancestors youth, and he was now a part of them and would pass them on to his race.
