General Contest Rules:Start: Monday January 22. 2007 End: Sunday, March 18. 2007 at 11:59 p.m. Renderosity time (CST - Central Standard Time) (Renderosity Server Time) Entries MUST be time-stamped by 03/18/07 11:59, or cannot be accepted Judging: March 19th 25th, 2007 Winners to be announced: Monday March 26. 2007 Winner's Announcement will be posted on the Renderosity Rhinoceros 3d Forum, the Contest Forum and this official contest page 1 entry per personSpecifications: To submit a new contest entry you will need: Image size must be a maximum of 1024 x 1024 pixels [72 dpi] in jpg or gif format; max. 500KB You are encouraged to make a composite showing multiple views of the details of your models that you wish to impress the judges with. These composite images must fit within the guidelines specified above. Your entry MUST contain a wireframe view or a shaded wireframe view of the NURBS surfaces of your own model created in Rhinoceros. This is a MODELING challenge and textured renders are not necessary. If you feel compelled to display a textured render it will count neither for or against you. All models must be created in Rhinoceros modeling software by McNeel and Associates. You can download the demo from their website and you will have 25 saves in which to create your model. Each entrant must post at least one WIP to the Renderosity Rhino Forum during the duration of the contest. Make sure that Contest WIP is somewhere in the subject line of the post. Do not submit an entry until you have posted a WIP to the Rhino Forum. Thumbnail Image: MUST be included. (100 x 100 pixels in jpg or gif format, max. 15KB). Full image thumbnails [small versions of the main image] are required for a valid entry. Managers and judges will attempt to help members if they have problems with thumbs or other uploading problems, however time is critical, so please let a manager or judge know if you are experiencing problems as soon as possible. Here is a helpful tutorial on How to make Full Image Thumbnails Both the image and the thumbnail are required Image may NOT be signed in any way Important Contest Guidelines and Information Contents: Entries must be new artwork not previously posted online, or anywhere else publicly Except for WIPs entries must not appear online anywhere else during the contest or until the Contest Winners have been posted Must comply with Renderosity's Terms of Service No nudity (Which includes: No bare female nipples, exposed genitals or groin area of any humaniod female or male figures, nor any completely bare buttocks) If in doubt about the no nudity clause, please click on the following "Contest Figure Coverage Guidelines" No sexual situations No extreme or graphic violence.(Cartoon style "slap-stick" okay) Only one image per person allowed (even if you have multiple accounts, only one entry per PERSON) No collaborative works By uploading your image you are agreeing that this is your original work. Judging: Entries will be judged solely on the quality of modeling. We will be looking for economy of geometry as well as smooth NURBS surfaces. Details help, but not if they are just "piling on geometry". Think carefully and choose a subject that will appropriately show off your modeling skills to the best advantage. The winning entries will be selected by a Judging Panel - The Panel's decision is final. Judges will perform independent reviews of the submissions. All members, with the exception of those on the Judging Panel, the Contest Managers and current Admins can enter. |
