"The Never Ending Story" Challenge

for the Terragen Forum

What's it about?

Sharing your skills in Terrain creation and/or Worldsetting creation with other members of the Community.

How?

• The first period begins with a 2049x2049 terrain (.ter) and every member can use his skills to create an image based on this terrain.
• The winner provides the worldsettings (.tgw) used for his winning entry and in the second period members create a terrain they seem fit for this world file.
• The winner of the second period provides his terrain and members use their skills....

• A period is 4 weeks/ 28 days.
• First period begins Sunday 30 April

• You must use the specific file for each challenge period.
• Minimal Postwork,such as resizing, contrast,brightness,sharpening is allowed. NOT allowed is the use of filters and masks which includes borders or special effects.
• Click HERE for the "The Never Ending Story" Challenge thread in the Forum.
• You may not alter the terrain in anyway.
• The use of the SOpack Strata overlay plugin is NOT allowed.
• Final entries must be done in Terragen, either registered or unregistered.
• The challenge is open to all Renderosity members.
• Please keep the images to a maximum of 1024 pixels by 768 pixels and not more than 200 KB.
• Thumbnails must be no larger than 100 by 100 pixels.
• The Challenge starts the 1st day of the period and closes on the 23rd day of the period at Midnight Renderosity Time.
• One image per person.
• The Challenge is anonymous, so please do not post your challenge entries in the main gallery.
• The winner will provide the next periods terrain/worldsettings file, subject to approval by the challenge manager.
• Any terrain size is allowed, the same goes for the worldsettings but preferably keep the settings to 2049 max
• Good luck to every one.

• Voting will take place in the Terragen Forum, after the close of the challenge and is open to all Renderosity Members.
• Voting will begin on the 24th day of the period and will close on the 27th day of the period at Midnight Renderosity Time.
• Voting will be as follows, 5 points for your favorite,3 points for second and 1 for third.
• You may NOT vote for your own image.
• The use of "clone accounts" for voting is strictly forbidden.
• The winners will be posted on the Terragen Forum on the 28th day.
• The Challenge manager will decide the winner in the case of a tie for first place.
• The winner will provide a 512x512 terrain file/world settings file, subject to the approval of the challenge manager.
• Announcement of the winners will take place in the Terragen Forum only.

Artists grant permission to Renderosity for the use of the submitted images for an undetermined period of time. This is strictly for posting the image on the front page and within the contest archives. The Artists will remain the intellectual property holder
