Contest Theme:
The Medieval Airport

What if the art of flying had been invented in the 12th century? What if some genius had constructed a machine that could actually fly!? What would these flying machines have looked like? Would they be powered by muscle, wind, steam or some other ingenius tehnology? Would they be single, bi or triple winged? Would they carry passengers? Cargo? What would a medieval airport have looked like? We want you to show us!

Renderosity is proud to present the Medieval Airport contest for the CINEMA 4D forum! We want you to render a scene of a medieval airport. It can be a small airport or a large one as long as you portray flying machines of some sort in conjunction with a landing area.

The contest is called medieval but since it will mix facts with fiction you can consider "medieval" as going from ca 1100 AD to ca 1550 AD.

Although we want you to construct your own machines you are of course free to draw inspiration from technical illustrations from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and even modern times. We will not accept any exact replicas, though. Inspired by is fine, but design your own machines. And remember to keep them historical!

The Renderosity Cinema 4D Forum Contest 2005
is sponsored by:

The goal is to create a complete scene and judges will consider all relevant factors: concept, modeling, texturing, lighting, etc. You can focus on a single machine but it must be placed in some sort of airport and it should be one single image, not one image showing different POVs.

How to enter

Entering the contest is easy - you just upload your final entry on this page. You have to be a registered member with Renderosity.com (free) but there's no need to announce your participation anywhere, no need to start a thread in the forum or anything like that. As long as you upload your entry before deadline you're in.

You are allowed to use CINEMA 4D CE (free with several magazine CD's) or you can download a demo of R9 from the Maxon site.
