Right, it's time for a new challenge and for this one we're going to focus on the sharp stuff! The theme of this challenge is to visualize in 3D a bladed weapon of some sort! It can be a medieval broadsword, a Japanese katana, a battle axe, a dagger or regular folding knife! It has to be a real weapon though so no fantasy weapons of any kind. The challenge will focus on modeling and texturing. The environment can be anything from a complete scene to a studio set up but remember that the primary focus is the weapon, not the environment, so a good idea might be to keep it simple and focus on modeling, texturing and finally lighting.

The challenge involves modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering a model of a bladed weapon and all Cinema plugins are OK to use, as are commercial textures. You need to do all the modeling yourself, however, so Poser characters are not allowed and neither are commercial models. Applications like Zbrush or Mudbox are allowed.

A couple of things to keep in mind
