Poser 14 Update 14.0.516 - Autofitting, Smarter Sims & Python Automation

Intelligent Autofitting Meets Python Automation

Dynamic clothing in Poser just got a major upgrade. With this update, PoserCloth becomes more intelligent, reusable, and automation-friendly. Dynamic garments loaded from the Library can now automatically reconnect to figures and adapt to compatible characters. For the first time, Physics/Cloth simulations can also be controlled directly through Python, opening new possibilities for production pipelines.

As dynamic clothing continues to evolve from a scene-specific effect into a reusable content asset, artists expect garments to load, adapt, and simulate with minimal setup. This update brings PoserCloth closer to that ideal while continuing Poser's investment in physics-based clothing workflows.

PoserCloth: Dynamic Clothing That Works Smarter

Automatic Figure Reattachment
Dynamic cloth props saved to the Library now automatically reconnect their constraints to the correct figure when loaded. No more hunting through constraints or manually reassigning body-part connections after loading a garment.

Greater Figure Compatibility
Garments designed for one figure can now automatically fit compatible figures. For example, clothing created for LaFemme 2 can be loaded onto LaFemme 1, with constraints and collision settings intelligently reassigned for the new character.

Clearer Notifications and Error Handling
Poser now alerts you when a required figure or bone is missing before a simulation begins. When fitting clothing to a compatible but non-identical figure, you'll receive a single concise notification instead of a series of disruptive pop-up messages.

Improved Animated Constraint Support
Simulations containing multiple animated constraints now correctly honor all constraint areas throughout the simulation. Previously, only the most recently added animated constraint remained active.

Better Simulation Management
When loading a dynamic clothing asset whose simulation name already exists in the scene, Poser now gives you clear options to:
-Replace the existing simulation
-Keep both simulations using an automatic numbered name
-Cancel loading the simulation while still loading the garment

Rename Simulations at Any Time
A new Name field in the Physics/Cloth Settings panel allows simulations to be renamed after creation. Validation checks help prevent duplicate or empty simulation names.

PoserCloth Meets Python

For the first time, Physics/Cloth simulations can be fully controlled through Python scripting.

Scripts can now:
-Enumerate available simulations in a scene
-Locate simulations by name
-Define frame ranges and simulation rates
-Run complete cloth calculations
-Clear simulation results programmatically

All of this can be done without opening the Physics/Cloth interface, making it easier to automate repetitive tasks, prepare scenes for render farms, and integrate cloth simulation into larger production pipelines.

Users familiar with the classic Cloth Room scripting API will recognize a familiar workflow through new functions such as:

PhysicsClothSimulatorByName()
CalculateDynamics()
ClearDynamics()

The result is a more powerful and automation-ready PoserCloth workflow for advanced users and content creators alike.

Additional Improvements

Rendering
Added zoom controls (+/-) for rendered images directly within the Render tab of the Render Window.

Material Room
Resetting a Simple material no longer disables the Add Layers option on the Assign Material page.
Keyboard modifiers such as Ctrl, Alt, and Shift no longer trigger hotkeys while entering layer names.

Actor & Dialog Selectors
Selector windows now close automatically when clicking outside the dialog.
Fixed crashes caused by clicking empty space within actor lists, including scenes containing only a single figure.

Animation
Saved control-handle props now correctly retain their keyframe values.
Python Shell
Updated with a lighter background color for improved readability.

Poser 14 continues to streamline dynamic clothing workflows, making garments more portable, simulations more reliable, and automation more accessible than ever before.
