TruForm has kindly taken the time to answer some of our questions below.

How did you become interested in creating 3D content??

"My 3D interest was the combination of my love for art combined with love for tech. Though my "direct" access to 3D came through those software magazine/CD combos. I was quite intrigued when given a copy of Daz Studio (v2.3 I think) with some starter content. That led to scouting tutorials and finding communities online. Whilst there were quite a few, none compared to Renderosity! Through the guidance and feedback from friends I not only became more familiar with Daz but learnt the way Poser works too. From there I started with freebies until the confidence built and then it turned into products! "

What inspires you when creating a new product and what do you most enjoy doing?

"The source of my inspiration is quite varied but most of them are internet searches. Sometimes I seek out ideas, other times they find me!
I like complex things with lots of aspects to it, so most of the time I end up creating full scenes as it's perfect for that description. Cars are also fun to make for the same reason, but they are 'predefined' for the most part, while scenes are flexible and let me make it up as I go."

This latest release is your 200th product!  How has your process changed over time?

"I can happily say the process has gotten easier, that's why you might notice the scale of my products are getting bigger, as making them is more efficient. This is partially due to the way I model the items (the origin point of objects are important!) plus the software updates to Daz and Poser has greatly helped. Large scenes require mass-scene-management, i.e. the ability to edit multiple objects at the same time. This area has improved."

What applications do you use for content creation?

"Blender 3D is my primary tool. I've tested other 3D software but I really enjoy the interface of blender.  And it's hotkey-reliant nature also speeds up the process. Once the shortcuts of Blender's tools are memorized it's all about what to make, rather than how to make it. And then there's Gimp for textures."

What is your dream project?

"I would really like to build a proper sized mall with stores/services, entertainment, food places... the works! While my scale has increased I don't think I'm at that massive size just yet. Imagine all the areas that need populating!"

What advice would you give someone starting out in 3D content creation?

"Be adventurous. 3D is all about seeing in reality what's in the imagination. Sometimes you lean towards real, other times it's total fantasy. They say this about movies but it applies to 3D too: it's not about realism, but believability. And it can be a process to develop so it's important to enjoy the journey. That way you always put out your best."

Congratulations Sebastian! You have made my 3D journey so rich and varied and upper class, not to mention your vehicles which fill a scene without emptying computer memory or bank accounts. I really feel that you're underrated. Thanks for being loyal to Renderosity and giving us such expansive visions. Thank you! Thank you! Thank YOU!
