Hi guy's I'm in the spline modeller in C3. I've drawnup a load of cross sections for my space fighter aircraft in Adobe Illustrator 10 (saving as Illustrator 6) I create spline object then I import my cross section no. 1 I then "create multiple cross sections" in the section editor but then when I import section no.2 it's not connected to section no.1! if I then import section no.3 all is OK and 'skinned up' same again for section no.4 now If I try to import section no.1 again in this possition (i.e. in cross sction 5) once again it's disconnected from section 4.I've tried all kinds of permutations for this but to no different effect,What am I doing wrong? If I try the same excersise but by using either C3s own shapes or custom shapes made within C3 I dont get this problem, all sections are skinned from shape to shape as they should be. Someone please help before I throw my space helmet out the window! Thanks People!

The shapes are numbered, and if they don't have the SAME number, then they won't connect. If you select one of them, look in the properties tab and there is a description of what number that shape is. Set all of them to 1 and they will skin from one section to the next. There is also a button for connecting the sections that is in the same place. If that isn't clicked, then they won't connect. Hope this helps!

Hey bluetone! I just new there would be a simple answer! Why cant't eovia put this stuff in the manual? Thank's a lot mate.

You're welcome. It's mentioned in the tutorial for creating splines, (or, at least it was in the C2 version.) but they do seem to have a problem with leaving some important points out of the refernce locations in the manual. :< I've been fighting with the particles for the last couple weeks! And the manual is NO help. When shading, there is the 'particle shader.' Is there ANYTHING in the manual about how to use this little gem? Huh? HUH? No. BUT, was there a listing on R'Osity about it a year or so ago? YES! Gotta love it when the customers help each other out more then the company that MAKES the stuff!

I've seen worse manuals. But this one is leader of the school of; . . To Frabblestat a Gooble, 1. Select the Gooble to be Frabblestated. 2. Select Frabblestat from the Gooble menu. 3. Hit "return" The Gooble will be Frabblestated. . . My experience is that the manual lags by a version number....the C3 manual finally has decent explanations of the functions added in C2, but only "chapter headings" for new stuff like "organic models" in the Vertex Modeller.

That's the way it works with tch manuals. The writing gets handed off to newbies, because the guys who know how to explain things are too busy fixing bugs. I know this because when I was straight out of university into an engineering job, they made me write the manuals, even though I had never seen the facilities or used the equipment.

FYI, It isn't in the manual but.. If the Gooble is set to greater than 10 then the Frabbleization will be phase limited to 90 degrees, and a reflux inversion may occur. Just thought you needed to know.
