Renderosity's Member of The Month - November 2014
Renderosity would like to welcome you back to our
monthly feature highlighting artists that have had a profound
impact within our Gallery Section.
In an effort to acquaint our members with other members in our
Community, Renderosity is featuring a member from our Gallery Area
every month. Each Member of the Month has given us a few important
details about themselves and their art which others may not be
aware of. This also will give others a chance to explore a new
genre of art and hopefully tie our Community closer.
November's Member of The Month is: starbase1
starbase1 has been a Renderosity Member since 2004 and gets the
greatest satisfaction from realistic depictions of space and
astronomy subjects.

(Renderosity) What is your
background?
(starbase1) I live in London England and studied Astronomy at
University.
(Renderosity) What is your main tool of
choice?
(starbase1) I think it’s a big mistake to restrict yourself
to one tool! The possibilities really open up when you combine
them. Lightwave 3d is the tool I use most and know best but I have
a real soft spot for oddball software like Xenodream and Groboto.
I’m currently learning Modo.
(Renderosity) What subject do you most
identify with?
(starbase1) Realistic space subjects.
(Renderosity) What or who inspires
you?
(starbase1) The night sky.
(Renderosity) What vendor do you give most
credit to?
(starbase1) I think Samildanach was the first to really show me
how original some content could be here, (I wish we could have an
updated version of the wonderfully creepy “Fimeâ€), but hats off
to DinoRaul for some truly impressive models, which always seem to
come with an extra set of poses and textures, to ensure they are
great value as well as great products.
(Renderosity) What is your favorite
product in the MarketPlace?
(starbase1) Can’t just pick one!
(Renderosity) Who is your
favorite artist?
(starbase1) Stonemason. He is superb at a sense of scale and
depth, and also exceptional with fitting human figures in.
(Renderosity) Any tips you
would like to share with the Community?
(starbase1) Keep plugging away – pause and reconsider your
work before uploading that ‘final’ gallery image, looking at it
again with fresh eyes after an hour can help you make a good image
great.
(Renderosity) What would
you like to see improved on the Renderosity site if
any?
(starbase1) I think removing some of the weakest content in the
marketplace would make it easier to find the truly exceptional
work.
