| Saturn with edge-on rings. Saturn revolves around the Sun roughly every 29.5 years. So, we can divide its orbit into quarters where we will see the maximized view of the topside of the rings 7.4 years from now, the edge-on view again in around 15 years, and then the bottom of the rings in the year 2031. The telescope used was a TEC Maksutov-Cassegrain f/20 with a SkyNyx 2-2 monochrome web-cam using Astronomik LRGB filters to create the color image in Photoshop CS3 |

ART can never match the true majesty of space photography!!! GREAT SHOT!!! David W
Excellent results!! I know how difficult it is to capture these images. :)
This really is an achievement. I was through off by the color as I thought it has a more yellow/orange coloring but the more I look at this, the more I like the color. Imagine just how far away this is... an incredible shot.
Quite an achievement, my 4 1/2 inch can only vaguely display the planet. Excellent capture and color treatment.

Majestic image.................. Congratulations for your selection in LWitG (Last Week in the Gallery – week 05-2009 ) ! ![]()
Great shot...the last time I looked many years ago it was an angled top view of the rings through a small 4" reflector. This is a fine photo and thanks for it. Glad to see in LWITG.
