| I thought I was finished with this image, then arcas compared the Habitat Module to a Marshnallow. After that I couldn't look at it without thinking about Smores! So I spent some more time on it. Thanks for having another look. For anyone who didn't see the last version, here is the original text: En-Route to her rendezvous with Comet Murasaki-Tate III, the Deep Spacecraft COURAGEOUS flies by the Near Earth Asteroid 2092-3087, nicknamed "Frigid Nelson", in an apparent homage to Captain Dame Daphne Richardson's ex-husband. An impactor cloud of microprobes has been released and will make contact with the asteroid a few hours after COURAGEOUS's closest approach. Built and rendered in Lightwave 8.5, with post work done in Photoshop CS2. Thanks to everyone for commenting on the WIP of this craft, I decided to flesh out the design, and replace the elevator from Habitat to hub with a transfer Tube. Thanks! And thanks for taking a look! -Tom |

by dbrv6 on Jan 12, 2009 8:06:42 pm [homepage] I still like it! Did not notice the Country flags last time thats a great touch.
by dashboard_jehovah on Jan 12, 2009 8:15:26 pm [homepage] Awesome model and presentation! The marshmallow comment is funny...good to see that you have a pleasant sense of humor, and can take gentle critizism and make it work to your advantage. Too many artists on this site would blow you out of the water for any crits on their work.
by NefariousDrO on Jan 12, 2009 8:17:03 pm [homepage] I really like this model, as well. Rich in detail and technical realism.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much better. I can look at this now without making a midnight kitchen run :)
Great comeback, Tom! The details and insignias really help. Very quickly turned around I might add. If it helps I too have had comments like that; something that never occured to me but once pointed out couldn't get out of my head. Damn Them! ; ) Once again, graceful recovery.
by TheBear005 on Jan 12, 2009 8:35:04 pm [homepage] Nice work - great design. Good details.
Excellently crafted spaceship with so much awesome technical detail ~ really marvelous artwork! 5+
Mmmm marshmallows... I see that now... a campfire would be good. Nice update. I see the blue and white flares and trails look brighter in this image too.
,,,this must be after we got out of the space business...;) honestly, a lot of people are gonna be silly about it...but great work, the scaling works better now.
As always well thought out and concieved Tom, another excellent presentation by one of my favorites!!! Cheers, David
