Remember a while back someone posted here about some secret render technique in Bryce, something that would blow our minds. They said they wouldn't tell us how for a month, well here we are! Where is this person? And where is this secret technique? I had a feeling it was all B.S., and now I think there is no technique. And by the way, where is that patch we were promised for Bryce5? We're waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Software patches don't magically appear overnight, it was an impressive and monumental task just to get Bryce 5 to market in the time span that was given, and it's even more impressive to see that the patch is being prepared, but will bet tested extensivly before it's released to the public. I mean you really wouldn't want a patch that didn't patch what was broke would ya? And as for rendering, I don't think there's any real secret, it all lies within the user's capabilities and knowledge of the application and of art in general.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

I know that patches don't happen overnight all by themselves. But I just hope Corel doesn't take forever to get one out, I bought Bryce 5 when it came out and there are some major bugs that are preventing me from usiing it altogether. About the secret render technique, your right, it, takes the ability of the application, I've been using Bryec since version 3 and i don't know of any secret techniques. But thiis person postd a thread a while back saying they knew something we didn't, and ti was this big secret and it would revolutionize the way we render in Bryce, but they weren't going to tell us for a month. I doubted it then and I doubt it now, I don't think there is any big technique and I think they were pulling our leg. By the way Clay, i checked out your site, and oyu have some really great use of textures, like on Tyrus, really nice stuff.

kaom here is a link to the thread where he told how he does it its not a Bryce thing its more of a Photoshop thing. He caught some flack in one of the forums when he posted about it so I guess thats why he posted it in the Terragen forum. Basically all you do i render larger than you want then use "sharpen more" in Photoshop, I guess other apps have something similar, then size it down. It does help define the edges a lot better too.

Looks like Adobe let the "cat out of the bag" years ago when they added unsharp & blur filters to photoshop (& several other apps have also).
