Subject: Carrara Physics Specifics

Does anybody know where I could get more specifics on how the physics in Carrara work?  When you have an object selected and go to the effects tab, there is a part labled "Physical Properties" which lets you assign values to density, bounce and friction.  What I would like to know is what these values are based on?  It has certain presets for wood, clay, ice, metal etc. but I would like to know the specific scientific values these were based on (example: coefficients for static & kinetic friction). 
I'm taking a physics class right know and have already used Carrara for a simple demonstation of two dimensional motion but I want to use it for more complicated things.

Don't expect anything like Real Flow.  In the early day's Carrara licensed from Havok for its physics.  People here have said that the current Carrara uses its own physics engine now.

That was an awesome video!  I certainly don't expect to get results like Real Flow (or prices either) with Carrara.  It's just I can't successfully simulate some of the experiments I have in mind without knowing more specifically what the phyciscs engine is doing.

Make sure your hot points are centered on each object as best as possible.  Planes/walls need thickness to them.

I've also asked for the real numbers and assumptions on some of Carrara's functions. The developers have not been forthcoming.

That is unfortunate, perhaps it is because the physics engine just isn't that accurate.  I don't know why they wouldn't let you know otherwise.

I think it is because they are understaffed (and isn't everyone, these days?) and their priorities are elsewhere.
