Hi all, Ive noticed when I render Poser 6 scenes in C5 Pro; certain edges of my figures (V3 & M3) look a little too blocky. Poser 6s Firefly engine has a Smooth Polygons option that corrects this and Im wondering if there is a similar fix in Carrara? I see that there is a smoothing option in the assembly room, but Im not sure what it does. Any ideas? JT

Hi JT,

If you are using the Native Import option, that can be "corrected" by changing the creasing angle in the import dialog box.

I haven't had that problem using the Transposer import options.

The Smoothing/Creasing in the assembly room will not work with Transposer imports. It WILL work with Native Poser imports so you can also use that option and adjust the creasing angle if you've already imported the character.

Smoothing is a little different. It dynamically/non-destructivly subdivides the polymeshes and creates nice, smooth objects from low fidelity poly models. However, using this on a Native Poser import object will turn the character into a blob with things that look like arms and legs.

Actually I seem to recall doing a close-up of one of the lower poly Poser figures....and I opened the mesh in the vertex room and added a level of subD to it to good result.
