Well, I never really gave it much thought until recently. I have been working on my animated film for nearly two years now, and every time I save a new version of a shot or scene, I add comments to that little box at the bottom of the save dialog telling myself what changes I had made to the new version. It just occured to me today - how the heck do you view those comments? :-) I looked in the PDF file and the book and found no explaination. Anyone have an idea on this? Thanks.

You got me. I tried everything I could think of. I looked at the "info" for the file closed, but no comments came up. I tried inside of Carrara to find where to access the comments. I would think it would be accessable from outside of Carrara, from the raw file, but I couldn't make it work. Maybe they forgot? Maybe you found a bug : )

Never Give Up!

Well, I've found one way, but it's not the most helpful. When you open the file and then "Save As..." you get to see the previously saved comments - but it would be helpful to see those comments BEFORE you open a file, or as you said - outside of Carrara.

A Carrara file is a text file, openable by any text editor. Here's an example: Without comments: 3DC { asci 1 fver 2 sf "Carrara Pro 4" vers "4.1.1" prvw 0 UsIK 1 CamL { CamN "Camera 1" } (Blah, blah, blah) With Comments: 3DC { asci 1 fver 2 sf "Carrara Pro 4" vers "4.1.1" prvw 0 comm "These are the comments" UsIK 1 CamL { CamN "Camera 1" } (Blah, blah, blah) Same file, just added comments to one. Hope this helps! :D

Thanks Blue! That helps... I think I could write a quick little drag and drop app that would open and read the comment info and display it in a dialog box. Thanks for the tip!
