On Carrara 3, I am trying to animate a model with IK. There seems to be two ways to set constrains. One, directly on the "Motion" tab selecting a pre-determend bone/joint, the second is under the Skinning menu. They seem to work independently from one to the other. What is the deference between them, and which should I use? Is it the same thing? I also heard that this process has been upgraded on Carrara 4. Any comments on this? I appreciate your help.

I beleive the left one, from the skinning menu, is to allow for all those to be set at once. While the other is where to adjust it after the fact when neccasary, or if you wish to re-invent the wheel and make all the settings manually. I don't think it matters, as long as the IK settings are made and the constraints are made. Hope this helps.

Thanks bluetone. I will experiment a bit. It doesn't seem to make a deference from what I have gathered, but I will see if I can see how one might be more beneficial then the other.
