Yes, he is a Carpeithian. I am using Carrara 3. I recently got a better understanding of the VM and I am getting a bit more proficient on it. I am gathering funds to upgrade to Carrara 4 with the intention of using it's improved animation features in conjunction with it's landscaping ones to try and bring these type of characters to life. I recently became a Dad so I don't have much time or money to be messing around with this stuff as much as I would like to. But I will get there sooner or later.

I like the nose in your sketch and the eyes big in your sketch are cool too. I'm guessing you could animate it better with big eyes but I'm no animator so take that with a grain of salt! The model looks GREAT! I think the character is very cool and trasposing him into the 3D realm is something you're going to accomplish if your current sample is what you're capable of! -Kix

Congrats Pinklet! I have a child on the way myself. Cuts into play time, but well worth it. Any chance of seeing a wireframe? I agree on the bigger eyes. Great sketch.

Congrats on the kid Pinklet! I have 2 myself, and yes... they DO cut into ones time to play with 3D. But, now that my daughter is getting older, she is starting to use photoshop to make her own art! :D I like the direction of your character and think that the change you have made in the nose is a good one for animation. He(she?) can wiggle it and sniff at things easier if it's not the whole front of the face you need to animate. And of course... I love the color! ;) Good luck on both new aspects to your life and don't forget to get as much sleep as you can, when you can! You never know when they're gonna wake up in the middle of the night for a month on end....
