I was looking at Eovia's $89 price for ArchiTools and it hit me that it's more of an application rather than a plug-in. I like that it can do high-rises quickly. But I have to pay my DMV bill first. Oh well, next payday then.

Definetly worth it. Its essentially a completely new modeler in Carrara. Julien did an awesome job. Brian

Hi Everybody, ArchiTools is now available for Carrara Studio 3, Carrara 4 Standard and Carrara 4 Pro. You can download it on http://julien.chaplier.free.fr/Main.html or buy it on a CD at the same location. For more information, visit the Documentation and Tutorials sections of the website, or e-mail me at julien_chaplier@yahoo.com. Regards, Julien ArchiTools is an advance building modeler designed for 3D artists. Its UI has been especially conceived to make it intuitive, easy to learn and fun to use. Just a few clicks are necessary to create a complete building, and this new model being fully procedural, all its elements can be tuned and modified at any time during the construction process. The same spirit that prevailed in the conception of Veloutis still present here: ArchiTools offers many advanced modeling tools, but always in a well integrated and easy to use form.GWeb posted Thu, 28 October 2004 at 1:32 AM
Some of us probably wonders what stuff it has like doors, windows, stairs, all the structures stuff.

The models include in the package are the one available on the website: 15 doors, 9 windows, and 7 stairways. These are simple models, they can be easily modified and customized in the VM. I'll add more in the future, I just need to find some time to modelize them.

I have an image here in renderosity's carrara gallery that uses architools to create almost all of the buildings. It worked very nicely. Its a sunset image of a Zeeland town.

Hi Julien, how big is the download?

So, technically, you could build entirely custom shapes and load them into ArchiTools. How flexible is the architecture of the tool? Could you load in catwalks and piping and bulkheads and use it to help you assemble Nostromo corridors? Or does it essentially limit you to rectangle-with-doors-and-windows thinking?
