ok i need network rendering now..lol..ive made a 30 sec animation at 12 fps...and it starts out quickly, but around frame 30 or so the render time goes from a few minutes up to HOURS...wah... so i need C to quickly implement network rendering..in the next, oh..15 - 20 minutes would be lovely...and even better if it could go out to the network im on...i work in a govt installation, so there are 1000+ computers here...and oh..'borrow' from everyones computer...but they dont have to know about it... so in recap...stealthy network rendering in the next 15 - 20 minutes... thanks..:)

You could just buy 30 licenses (quickly) and install them on those computers and give each 1 second to gnaw on an reassemble the frames later... (rendering sequenced images is a good idea, regarding loss of valuable data when the renderings slows down to 'days', maybe restarting from frame 2 does help then)

30 licenses??..hmmm...think theyd allow me to pay with imaginary money?...lol.. i am hoping they add network rendering at least to version 4...it was never a consideration for me before, but im quickly acquiring a network at home, SBC DSL has made it easy with using the phone line solution...it may not be the optimal one, but...itd be nice to have the option of using it to speed things up... ive been checking out Truespace and Maya...more Truespace since they give really good package deals almost constantly... tho i have to admit to liking C and would just prefer it to do what i want...

They say animation will be the main focal point. So I think they can't leave network rendering out... Because I can't get myself to render anything without GI these days...

I sure hope they don't leave it out! I've wanted that since ver 1.1!

You could consider the "do-it-yourself" approach.todd71 posted Fri, 09 July 2004 at 12:03 AM
