. . People been telling me "I don't care how much your work stinks; post it anyhow!" So here's a snap from a current project. Working again on a plug-in for the shareware game Escape Velocity. http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/games/evo/ This'll be a mid-sized cargo ship in the "Mac" territories. My sketch was more like a segmented bug but this is what came out. Well, considering 98% of what gets seen is a top-down, pre-rendered sprite... Needs a few spiky things around the front, and I want to look into the fresnel shader. One distant light and GI, and setting up the animation for the sprite was a breeze. I LIKE rendering in Carrara!

Fun stuff! Stoooooopid is good. In fact, I've learned more about 3D modeling by doing stupid things than any other way!

great looking model,and mark is right.i learned much when doing bad stuff(lets call it modeling for the trash can).anyway,great ship.:)

Very nice, indeed! I really like the panel shader; is that a texture map or did you manage that procedurally, somehow?

. . Drew it up in PhotoShop and applied it to color and highlight channels. Applied tiled to the whole thing (had to UV map externally, tho).

I think the whole thing looks cool. Mark is also totally right concerning his comment about doing stupid stuff. -Kix
