I saw it on VersionTracker today. Anyone tried it yet? Paul

Eovia, if you are reading, it is really annoying to have to fill out a form and enter your serial number just to get a patch. I mean is this really necessary? No other software package I own makes you do this, well except Roxio, and most people hate that too... Just thought I would rant and see what other people think of this... Paul

Do you know what this patch fixes? I couldn't find anything other than it was there for downloading. I think that having to complete the form is unnessary, but it's not much of a bother. I'm glad that they are continuing to fix the bugs in version 3 and not just leaving them there and concentrating on version 4.

I dunno about the form....maybe I wasn't careful enough and changed a digit in my phone number or something. In any case, I get two or three emails every time they have an announcement (inevitably about new sale prices on items I already bought.) Carrara -- wonderful software, but marketing department needs an upgrade.

Yes, compare that to Poser. How many months (or years) go by before they do a bug-fix? For OS X at least, it seems like it's been almost a year now with the Poser 5 beta, and they still haven't bothered to do any bug fixes.

I'll wait until Eovia broadcasts news that explains the fixes in 3.0.4 before installing it. It was posted on their site before their marketing people had a chance to add heir HTML fluff piece.

I thought maybe the readme included in the 3.0.4 update would list the fixes. But it's the same readme that came with the 3.0.3 update. ARGH!!

They got a page up now describing the patches.JasenJ1 posted Thu, 29 April 2004 at 6:15 AM
I agree that filling out the form EVERY time is annoying. I just enter garbage values; they don't seem to error check any of the fields. - Jasen.

Also, why do we always have to do a fresh install before applying the patch? I'm glad Windows doesn't work that way.
FWTempest posted Thu, 29 April 2004 at 2:16 PM
according to the folks on the Yahoo group (and a little personal experience)... enter anything you want in the fields on the form... so long as the "required" fields have something in them, and you'll get your download (hasn't failed me yet).... a fresh install is recommended... but installing over your existing installation will work 99.9% of the time (also hasn't failed me yet)

It still reads like the 3.0.3 patches (I'm pretty sure anyway). I patched. It worked. I'm rendering. I notice 3.0.3 is not available anymore. -Kix

You can save the download page to your favorites and not have to enter serial numbers again.

Anyhow, the form doesn't check any serial value or whatever ! Just enter anything them go for download !

This patch clams to have fixed a speed problem with the GI under OS X, have any of you Mac users noticed a speed bump?
thomllama posted Wed, 12 May 2004 at 2:50 PM
big speed boost with the dual mac under GI... i turned everything on and set as high as I could and just rendered the wisard's "indoors / table lamps" and last time it was something just short of an hour ( if i remeber correctly.. it was some time ago.. so it may have been a little longer or shorter)... this time it was well under 10 mins, big big boost for me
Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.
