Nope - wouldn't let me copy the .cr2 version, though I think I have found a work around that does involve .car.  I export him as a .car, then can reimport him into the scene the same way.  When I do this I keep all the body dials and what not.

Of course handling the shaders for him was a whole 'nother ball of fun.  But it looks like if I do it this way his shaders will import with him each time too (whooo hooo).  Now to see if I can simply save the .car version to the browser.

~edit~
that didn't work either LOL.  Apparently there will be no adding anything to the browser other than carrara created objects.  Nice.....
However exporting the character as a simple .car is an easy enough work around.  It appears I can morph him as I want and that will import back just fine as well.  Then still be able to pose him how I want once I do that.

Moving him is another story.  Carrara doesn't want to allow me to use the arrows to move him once I complete the process this way.  I have to enter the digits if I want him to move at all.  That is a pita but one I can tolerate I guess.  If anyone knows how to "unlock" his arrows - I'd love to know.
