Subject: Does Carrara subvert good mesh design?

I don't believe it. The new workflow is to NOT adjust any part of the model by hand, but instead adopt a take-it-or-leave-it attitude to whatever the automatic tools throw up. (And I do mean throw up!) I can now cludge a model together quicker. The boolean, when it works, is better. The edge tools are fantastic (if you accept the fact that they break the mesh in some cases). Little stuff like one-button "freeze" of subdivided meshes is a wonderful addition. What I mourn is being able to take apart a bad triangulation job and re-do the mesh flow properly. Carrara will not allow that to be done. Attached, progress so far. Trying to watch the polycount because there is a lot more camera to follow!
