Doc, I do use Carrara 5 Pro. Those edge tools are the bee's knees for roughing in a model. And I love that they don't hurt the UVmap either. (The bugs, tho, drive me to tears. Especially as I've been reporting some of them for over a year now with basically bullshit as a response).
