I'm reminded of the Woody Allen joke, "We stand today at a crossroads: One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other leads to total extinction. Let us hope we have the wisdom to make the right choice." Right now, with respect to Non-Canonical, I stand at a crossroads: (a) attempt to explain the joke - never a good idea, and (b) shameless, flagrant, self-promotion. Unlike Woody I guarantee the wrong choice by doing both. I apologize in advance. First, jokes. It is a comedy truism that one should not try to explain jokes - there is no chance of anything funny coming out of the result (Unless, I suppose, one explains in haiku while also juggling hedgehogs. Just don't try all of this while on a unicycle, that's just overkill.) The best advice when a joke falls flat is to simply move forward with your next zinger. (Admittedly, not always possible if you're a poor hedgehog juggler. If you fall off the unicycle...hey, I warned you.) I have been informed by reliable sources. (Okay, source.) That this week's Non-Canonical is somewhat confusing around panels 3 and 4. (It doesn't help that because the first panel is double the size, that we here at Quinn-Lobe Productions refer to them as panels 1-2, 3, and on the next line, 4, 5, and 6. [Another topic for later: avoid pointless interruptions during joke-explanations, especially, when there are a lot of pointless interruptions.]) Anyhoo, what we have in the lower left is that Gallimimus comes in and says hello to Gamera. Gamera being the DAZ tortoise standing on the other side of the map. (This Gamera is indeed the Kaiju from the kaiju eiga which...oh, heck, even I'm not going out on that tangent of red herrings. Check it out in Wikipedia, if interested.) Um, speeding up here. Gallimimus has been looking at the website "," and then in the last panel it is clear that the Robotic Tuna spotted this on Gallimimus' computer and made some orders for heavy weapons using "ultra-super-fast delivery." That's all. I apologize to the entire Non-Canonical fan community for any lack of clarity and/or humor. I also apologize to Renderosity, and the other members of the Renderosity Comics Team in particular, for my use of the phrase "Non-Canonical fan community" in the previous sentence. This is, of course, smaller than the number of people who not only recognize the terms "kaiju eiga" and "Decemviri Sacris Faciundis," but enjoy that knowledge. Oh..the second thing. Shameless promotion. By this time I have frightened off most people. But, I just wanted to add that Non-Canonical now also appears at WebComics Nation (same schedule as right here at Renderosity). So please feel free to bounce over to for all the regular Non-Canonical strips, plus some exciting background details that I am sure will elicit a lot of excitement from the Non-Canonical Fan Com--- oops. Just forget I was about to say that. Seriously, though, I have added Non-Canonical to this other site in an attempt to gain more viewers. Some viewers. Okay, any viewers. However, I remain very happy that Renderosity allows my little talking dinosaur comic on their web site, and this remains Non-Canonical's main home whether they like it or not.

LOL! Echos From A Fractured Mind...funny! Still funny after the fact. Thumbs up to the naked smilies and clothed thumbs...hehehe... ...people who not only recognize the terms "kaiju eiga" and "Decemviri Sacris Faciundis," but enjoy that knowledge...Well, of course I had to go look up these terms. Now I am in the "know" about such things, too. Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for adding a smile to mine, Lillian

Despite what 'Lobe said above, I just didn't "get" this week's FoToonZ. A little help, anyone? Sorry. B(

First off to Anterior Lobe, I always read your comic. I love Gallimimus...he's so much like some men I know (whistle smiley here). No, I did not go look up 'kaiju eiga'...yet but I did get the joke about the tuna and since it's 'on going' with this tuna, it's pretty funny to see it ready for action. I wonder who'll be toast? Fun, fun Mousecapades, naked smilies and clothed thumbs. Amazing what it says about censorship. Kuntry Life is cute (love that eye) and fractured is a hoot. I like the Tunnelrunners and look forward to what happens next. Wren Derosity is well done. I look forward to the comics page. Laughter is good for the soul and it adds that little bit of happiness to make me smile. Thanks to all!

Thanks to all for the kind words for Non-Canonical. I very much appreciate that. Burpee: I actually think of Gallimimus as being an exaggeration (I hope) or extension (more likely) of aspects of my own personality, specifically: lazy and sarcastic. Victoria is my cartoon version of Mrs. AnteriorLobe (who goes by Guineapigmom here on Renderosity): long suffering and the one who actually gets stuff done.
