As you know, some of us are new to Poser, so please don't laugh. I have a product from Freestuff I want to load, but I'm not sure how to get it into the runtime. I thought I copied it to the right place, but now I can't find it. Please help if you have any suggestions. I'm so frustrated.
Some of the suggestions I got were:
First try refreshing your library. Click on the little rotating arrows in the lower right of the library.
If that didn’t work continue on.
When you install something in a runtime, you need to have it in the format: Poser content (or name of runtime of your choice)
>>Geometries (of the obj files)
>>Textures (for the textures)
So a figure would need to go into Poser Content\Runtime\Libraries\Character
With Poser’s install from zip function, Poser will unzip the file for you into the runtime of your choosing. However, sometimes the file structure in the zip file will include an extra folder and you will get something like: Poser Content\Lafemme’s clothes\Runtime\Libraries\Character when it unzips.
You will need to go into Window’s Explorer or Mac’s Finder and move the folder Runtime from the folder Lafemme to the folder Poser Content. Try again to refresh the library. The content should now show up.

PS: On a mac don't forget to hold control as you drag to merge the files!

Unsure myself, I've had issues like this in past at times. I also self install everything. Maybe create a separate folder and name it something and put it in that location and see if it pops up.

When installing freebies, it's very helpful to install to a dummy runtime.
Create a new folder on your desktop and drag the runtime folder into the new folder.
You SHOULD see your NEW items in the correct sub-folders.... character, props, etc....
But if they are messed up in some way (or you have a strict personal runtime policy!) it's easier to see where everything is when you are just dealing with one zip file (or item is it composed of multiple zip files) at a time. Once you are happy with this item, you can drag and drop this runtime on to the runtime you actually use.
BEST of luck!

Unfortunately I cannot help you, I have never worked with Poser. Good luck to you. I really like your well-made image with a little humor

OK - Grab a cuppa coffee....
My method is a bit different because - for one thing - ALL my runtimes are external (other than the stuff that comes with Poser). I have separate runtime folders for character morphs (V4, A4, G4, M4, etc...) as well as poses, props, materials, and so on. This makes it a breeze to back-up my runtimes, as well as add new stuff. But I digress...
I always manually install everything. Let's say I've downloaded a freebie prop. I'll unzip the file, then grab the runtime folder, and drag it to the "props" folder which contains the 'runtime' folder, and drop it in there. Quick and easy. It should work the same way if all your runtimes are in the Poser root directory. You'd just drop the 'runtime' folder there, and it should load everything into the proper places.
And I agree with what Andy said... I'll put most freebies into a "test" folder just to make sure it works, then I'll install it in the proper runtime. Hope I haven't confused you even more...
