trying to learn retopping to get better meshes from my modeling. having difficulty with edge detail and how the geometry comes out. for makehuman, quads only rule applies, we have more freedom for character creator stuff, but still, a smooth and clean mesh with sensible uv mapping is always nice too, lol... im trying to get this star trooper stuff to the next level, but that cant happen until i get better meshes. this set came out "ok" (good enuff for gov't werk), but i lost hard edges along some of the padding in certain areas. took a while to get the most of it out, and after all retopping attempts, zremesh experiments, the most simplified zremesh setting worked best =/ BLAH! i find getting the basic shape and form in 3dc to be much easier than in zbrush. but fixing and detailing better in zbrush. i need BOTH for my stuff, i cant do what i do in just one of them.
