Iím just too much in love to be poetic -
I canít commit this passion to the page.
My superstitious heart becomes frenetic.
"Donít write it down, or it might start to fade."
Iím sure there must be many ways of speaking
Without repeating what's been said before,
But I canít find the phrases I am seeking
And repetition soon becomes a bore.
This poetís heart demands at least a sonnet.
This loverís hand prefers to work with touch.
My fingers find your body, write upon it
"I want you now," - "I love you far too much."
Why should I try to turn us into art
When I am written, bound, painted in your heart?
Dedicated to my husband :)
Thanks for reading. Constructive critique always welcomed :)

Love of the heart is truly the greatest gift any one can bestow upon another person. Your husband is truly a lucky man. I believe that you can never commit your feelings to the one you love enough. Thank you for your sonnet it truly is beautiful. ;0)

I really, really loved this because you distinctly captured the way I feel when I want to right anything even remotely "happy" when you said: (quote)My superstitious heart becomes frenetic. "Dont write it down, or it might start to fade."(end quote) and also, when you spoke of the fear of repetitiveness when it comes to love-writing :):):)

Interesting paradox there - writing a poem about not writing a poem about being in love. Also, it's damned hard to write a "lurve" poem without sounding cheesy or gushing. You achieved the balance nicely. If I wanted to be really picky, some of the rhymes don't quite work but since I do just the same in my own writing it would be unfair to say you did something wrong.

Beautiful tribute to what seems to be a wonderful loving relationship. Kudos to you.

I identify with this poem so much... You touched on something I was having trouble expressing..... Love the way you put these words together, and the word picture you draw in my mind..
