And we continue. This doesn't advance the story much, but I wanted to showcase the bar props a little better. I'll post two tomorrow that are related marked part 1 and 2. View them in order or you will spoil the surprise. Part 1 will give it away to most people. Thanks for stopping by.
After her dirty dancing she sat down next to her date. He was signalling the barkeep for the tab.
“So what's up wid dat guy?” She was twisted, looking at a well toned man with blond hair and wearing a vest with no shirt, pants and heavy boots. “He looked like he wuz really eyein' me up”
“He probably was. You were the center of attention out there and quite beautiful.”
She smiled and ran her hands across his back and held onto his right arm.
“Don't worry,” He continued, “ He's harmless. He's a really nice guy and happens to be the owner of the bar.”
“Ahhhh. He's just checkin' out yoor date den.” She said, still smiling. “Wow, he looks so young too. I wish my deadbeat brudda would get outta mom and pop's house and do sumtin wid his life.”
“Maybe he's taking care of them?” He asked.
“Haah! Dats a laugh! Ma's takin' care o him no doubt. And pop...well...pop's not there right now.”
“I'm sorry.” He replied. “Is he okay? Sick in the hospital?”
“Nah. He's...let's just say he's got'em self a real small place outside the city in a walled in community. He shares da place with a lot of other guys like him.”
“Again, I'm sorry.”
“Feggitit. Maybe it'll do him some good. He's out in six months. He's not a murderer or nuttin', jest some stupid petty crimes and hangin' out wid da wrong people.” She sort of looked away, but she tightened her grip on his arm like it was a lifeline. “Sorry. Didn't mean to make the moment a bummer.”
“You didn't and I asked. How about we go?”
Her face lit up again, all smiles and sunshine, like the last moment didn't even happen. He couldn't help but smile along with her. He was almost regretting not letting her treat that one patient in particular, but he was sure that as she continued to observe him where he was locked up, that she would eventually agree that the man should never see the light of day again.
“Yeah. Yeah hon, let's blow this joint!” And they headed out with her on his arm.
