Description

While waiting for the interminable render to finish, finally got to use Painter 11 to do a more traditional piece...well, digitally. This is not one of Painter's "make art" button things, I worked this from a photograph to start, and then referred to it as I went along, but not copying exactly.

Came out pretty well--damn near what it would look like if I actually painted it! (Yes, I do paint in oils.) Amazing.

Production notes: Painter 11, photograph, Photoshop for the frame & resizing. Ta da!

PS. Took me about 5 hours to do.

This is awesome--I have used that function in Painter and it's not a substitute for someone who knows how to paint--as you obviously do!

Wow, doll.... I'm truly impressed. I work in oils as well, and it's an infuriating medium at times-but haven't tried to switch over to the digital use of painting like this. Fantastic structure, composition, and I love the play of warm and cold colors in this. Stunning digital/oil, Nan.
