Trying out ideas for wakes and whitecaps. In reality, Electras pursuit of the Bismarck was carried out in the wee small hours, with the big ships meeting each other around dawn. The sea was running so rough the British destroyers had to slow down lest they smash their lifeboats to smithereens. Electra's crew were close enough to hear the battle and knew its outcome by signal but when they reached the seething raft of debris where the Hood had disappeared they learned to their utter horror that unserviceable lifeboats were the least of their worries. Three men was all they could find.
Rendered in Vue 11 Esprit.
My HMS Electra, Tryphon's RN gear and Chris Schell's HMS Hood.

Excellent, excellent ocean terrain and whitecaps!!! Put together very nicely, Brian. I especially like the boat in the rough seas. Reminds me of some hair raising stories I've heard from destroyer crewman in high seas. If I forgot to say it, "Excellent"!

Absolutely awsome 'waterwork' ! some of the best I've seen....midships awash and the bow ploughing in....I feel quite queezy.....the Hood in the mist is very well done, would not detract from the image if you'd left it out but adds so much for being there. Sadly Ted Briggs, the last of the 3 survivors passed away in 2008 aged 85, he was the only one who really spoke of the event in any detail...

Really well done this time! I'm specially liking the big grey lady mostly hidden in the fog... you've out-done yourself with this render :)
